Saint Ann

In April 1924, Father Michael Murphy was appointed as pastor of the newly created parish of Saint Ann. By 1925, a church, hall, and rectory campus of tile and reinforced concrete finished in stucco had been built. In the 1930s, side altars dedicated to St. Ann and St. Joseph were added.

St. Ann School opened its doors in 1955 and served the community faithfully for many years before closing its doors in 1988.

The current parish church was completed in 1968. In 1992, a Pastoral Unit was formed with Sacred Heart. In 1998, St. John of the Woods was added, and in 2006 the Church of the Visitation and Visitation Catholic School were added as well.

The Pastor and the Parochial Vicars for the South Tacoma Regional Parishes now live in community at the St. Ann Rectory.

In 2007, Visitation Catholic School opened a satellite Pre-Kindergarten classroom in the old St. Ann school.
