September is a time Of beginning for all,Beginning of schoolBeginning of fall. Dear Families, Welcome to kindergarten! I hope you were able to have some fun, rest and rejuvenation during our summer. I am expecting an enjoyable and exciting year for kindergarten. Please contact me any time you have questions or concerns that I might help you with. My goal as your child’s teacher is to help, in any way I can, your child to become the person God intended when He created that life. Thank you for the privilege of teaching your child. We will have Music and P.E. twice each week. Music will be on Wednesday and Thursday and P.E. on Monday and Tuesday. We have great teachers for both subjects and both have activities that last years kindergarten enjoyed. We will also have Library on Wednesday. In Religion we will start the year learning about how God’s love created the universe and that all creation is a gift to us from God. We also will attend Mass every Friday at 9:00. Please feel free to join us any time your schedule permits. In Language Arts we will start the year with stories, songs, rhymes, alphabet activities and learning routines to use the Language centers. We will also work on reading and writing top to bottom and left to right. The main focus of Science will be the Foss Science kit “Wood”. We will learn to observe and accurately record weather on a graph. In Social Studies the focus will be on our family, school and church communities. Math concepts taught this month will be identifying location such as top, middle and bottom, above and below. Sorting and classifying objects by attributes and graphing will also be introduced.
